I just got home after a one and half hour drive. Yes I did shuffle play again and I was like smiling of the thought which song gets to be played next. It was a good shuffle, I heard 사랑은 and The Day We Meet Again. BUT listening to 차안남녀 before logging off from the office got me inflected with the Last Song Syndrome.
The song keeps playing on my head specially the part ‘pa pa rap pa’. It’s one of a personal favorite from the 5th Album Eternal Essence of Music. Google makes silly translation of this song title but it just mean Man and Woman in Car. I can still feel the soul of this song coming from Wheesung’s voice.
잘 자요!

차안남녀 can be heard a bit sexual but the lyric is all about parting and heart-breaking.
yeah i read the lyrics and it was indeed about a break up. how it feels to break up inside a car. funny thing is when you type 차안남녀 in google translate it says ‘car sex’ hahaha. maybe this is because of 남녀의 which implies man-woman intimate moment. but i think this is 차 (car) 안 (within or inside) 남 (man) 녀 (woman). I just don’t know how it was compressed that way. early this morning i think i played it 3X.
haha translating Korean can so fun…wow I never knew there was a term such as car-sex, well I’m thinking maybe Wheesung oppa had a bad break-up experience while he was driving his girlfriend home or something.
I think the lyric was written by 전해성 who composed this song. =) He didn’t write it, but we don’t know yet whether he has that kinda experience or not.
hey cherrell welcome back. hmm i read from Wheesungland that Wheesung finds it awkward when people thinks that the lyrics he made are all based on his own experiences =) in short he is just a creative genius. but he sings sad songs with full feelings so i think he must have experienced so much in his love life to be able to bring out that emotions in his voice.
Officially, Luv Shine and 일년이면(After 1 year) are based on his experiences as far as I know.
I also did giggle when I translated this song off google hehe.
I totally agree that Wheesung is a creativity genius no doubt about that…
but I really think that most of things he sings about really did happen to him…I think that he is just trying to play it off and not want us to think that he is completely unlucky when it comes to love and relationships. I remember when I was watching that one episode of “Come to Play” and MC Wonhee asked him about the way he sings, how he can sing with so much passion…and I remember Wheesung saying that he draws it from his life experiences…so I think all of are probably not all his songs are about him…but I think that most of them are about his life. Whether he wants to admit it or not
You got a point! Totally, agree… =)
hm, so i found this daum website discussing about wheesung, and right click is apparently not allowed. anybody know what they’re saying? http://cafe.daum.net/nowwetalk/5p6W/17180?docid=1XUp|5p6W|17180|20090629224323
Well, that cafe is kinda “Anti-Star” community. They just pour out anything they want without thinking. Anyways, that posting is talking about Whee’s appearance. Just ignore it.
i really hate it when people try to lambast him with his appearance. for heaven’s sake… Wheesung is a singer and the style goes with the performance… how can it be the center of dismay. i think this is one reason why it’s hard for Koreans to penetrate the US market. Their concept of a singer-artist is not what other countries think it may be. Looks and style are just supplementary to the talent. I don’t mean to undermine Korean talents or offend Koreans because I am infact listening to Korean music more than my hometown music these days or perhaps past months or even years. It’s just the perception that singers should be like this… and that… when the first thing that matters is the voice.
oh I see. Some people are shallow, or maybe they just have nothing better to do than just going on anti-star cafes and bash talented singers and waste their time.
I’ll go to this site then…
I understand what Janey-bei said on the US market for Korean singers.
I also think Wheesung can sing very well things he didn’t experienced.
The Last Song Syndrome…I can really get bored if it’s a song I don’t like lol
LSS is really annoying sometimes because there are novelty songs (non sense song from my country) that get stuck on my head over and over again. But Cha.an.nam.nyeo was a good LSS for me. A few hours ago i played it 3x on my way to the office. I love the emotions that goes with the song and the beat is not dragging.
