Wheesung Talks About Taeyang

If there is any Korean boy band or boy group that I can listen to from start to finish that would have to be Big Bang.  I like their music and when I talk about Big Bang the first member that will come into my mind is of course Taeyang (Youngbae).  Next to Wheesung, I really like Taeyang as an overall performer.

While watching subbed Big Bang TV guesting I came across this program The Secret Star.   Surprisingly, the refreshing face of Wheesung came out at 2:07 giving some words to describe Taeyang.

Wheesung was giving comments about how he thinks about Taeyang.  Of course this caught my attention more.  I know Wheesung at certain point trained Big Bang, I saw it from their documentary and he is just qualified to give such thought being a past YG member.   I guess Wheesung just nailed it, Taeyang used to be shy and may have lacked confidence before but now it is certain that he is one performer worth watching.  Great dancing skills and good R&B voice.    Wheesung + Taeyang = Overjoyed Me.

MNET Intro to Wheesung

Here is some tribute of MNET to Wheesung for being chosen to host that Pre Star1 program.   It’s nice to see how he is being recognized from his early achievements unravelling the present Wheesung who just matured his music and image gracefully. 

I wish there is an English Sub.  I could barely understand what he said as it was really fast.  Though the first question asked is about the meaning of his name.  He said  Wheesung means ’shining so bright’  (some sort of brightest actually).  I think Janis mentioned about this in one of her comments in a previous post.  

I thought I heard him say he wanted to become a singer known in the world when asked what is his goal as a singer.  Wheesung is too humble, if only he knew he got admirers all over the world.  People who love his voice and performances regardless of his outfits and style.  I bet there are a lot like me who sincerely likes Wheesung for being him.   I love you Wheesung! Nyahahaha =P

Wheesung Smokes?

Someone posted this video in You Tube.  It was taken right before the Victory Concert.  I am a bit taken a back to learn that he smokes… not because I am against it (because I also do) but it will definitely affect his voice =(

It was a short post, a bit far but the hair gives it.   He is supposedly the guy in white polo.   The girl who posted the video seems to be very sure it’s him.

5 Days to Go…

Five days to go from now and my dear Wheesung will be turning 27 (or 28 in Korean age).   How else could he be surprising his fans this year?  He has done a lot last year with series of concert which started in Japan and ended in Pusan with the Soul Concert.  He also launched his very first mini album.

Will he be staging another exclusive concert with his fan?  I wonder when… and if he will ever be fufilling his promise to hug each and every fan on that day — whoa I want that hug too Wheesung.  

I am thinking how to send my greetings to Wheesung *sigh*  It’s getting hazy if I will be able to go to Korea on February.  I’m counting days on sending my unconditional love and support for Wheesung.

DBSK’s Xiah Junsu Listens to Wheesung

I am so loving Big Bang.  I love listening to their music as much as I love listening to Wheesung.  I also love the thought that they were vocally trained by Wheesung prior to debuting. 

While I admittedly like Taeyang the most in Big Bang, I’m also fond of Daesung who says that Wheesung is one of his favorite singers. I can still remember that scene from the documentary when Wheesung was coaching Daesung in singing a Brian McKnight song.

Another big star who is actually not a favorite, admitted he loves listening to 안 되나요 (Andwenayo) of Wheesung,  that is no less than Taeyang’s Piano Battle opponent, Junsu of DBSK.  In an interview with Seungri (Big Bang youngest member) he expessed he likes to be closer to Junsu who is his idol,  following that Junsu has been interviewed and asked who he listens to these days.   He said  안 되나요  of 휘성씨 first.

Even if I am not a DBSK fan, knowing that one of their vocalists likes Wheesung, makes me all the way proud of my Korean R&B Demigod

Real Slow… Real Man… Real HOT

Holy cow!  Just when everybody was too mad about the initial picture of Wheesung from his official website at Orange Shock, a new one has been uploaded.  Well I don’t know if this is to axe the issue on raging comments about how ‘lady-like’ is the first picture but I am loving this new pic… it’s as if there is a sudden shift of gear.

Does he look a little slimmer this time? Hmm maybe the angle.. I guess he did shed all of his fats.  Oh I really cannot concentrate i keep on looking the chest down the stomach…. Whaaaaaa Wheesung so HOT!  WTH are you doing turning your fans nut– one time so metrosexual then the next day a hunk.  I want to cling on those arms grrrrrr!!! but I will melt if I get a hug.

Plastic Fantastic Wheesung?

I am one big follower of Yahoo Answers.  Answering questions and ocassionally asking one is fun.  Being in-love with Korea, i have been constantly checking that category.  Few days ago i have discovered the question below about Wheesung:

I don’t know… my instinct tells me to answer the question and I did.  Well, i really hate it when people try to put Wheesung on such bad light, i actually waited for the best answer to be selected before making this post.

Am i the only one who thinks this way?

It so silly for me to think she will either pick the first to answer or my answer.  How can they say he had surgery =( i have been watching even old videos of Wheesung performing and have not seen any drastic change in his face except losing some weight.  His nose and eyes did not change… maybe his complexion has become smoother… but i also observed it was inconsistent.  Nevertheless celebrities usually have facial treatment to maintain nice skin so I am no longer surprised if he appears to be flawless at times.

Was there a drastic change in his looks? maybe the style...

I wouldn’t hate Wheesung if ever he decides to have some ‘enhancements’ but i think he is cool enough to carry on with what he has right now.  He is a talent afterall and not just some pretty face.  I would still be listening to his music over and over again regardless of how he looks but I just couldn’t agree that he is plastic fantastic…

Hi or Bye? in Japan Airport

I was digging for Wheesung video’s during his 1st Japan Concert last June.  To do this, I had to get his name written in Kanji.  So this is how his name in Japan — フィソン. 

Presto! this name written in Kanji led me to see this short clip in what seems to be an Airport in Japan.  I am not sure which one it was but definitely this is during the same period when he had his 1st concert in Japan.  He sported the same hair style during his actual concert.   I am not sure if he is departing or has just arrived.  Check out how nice he was with his fans calling his name.

While he was walking someone called him Wheesungsshi… he smiled back and said hello (안녕 – annyeong).  My Wheesung seems to be really good mannered, waving to his fans.  When the elevator is about to close, I am not sure if I heard it right it seems he said 퍼가요 (pogayo).

I love Wheesung in White… he looks better in his sleek white outfit than some of the wardrobe he wore during the actual concert.   He looks sophisticated this way.

Japan Again in September

Another event to look forward by Wheesung’s Japanese fans is the 2008 Korean Music Festival which will be sponsored by a non-profit organization (NPO) for the  Japan-Korean Cultural Exchange Program.  A concert featuring 3 popular Korean music artists will perform in the said event on September 3, 2008 – 6pm at the CCLemon Hall (old town hall in Shibuya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Udagawa-cho 1-1).

Of course no less than Wheesung will be performing in the said event and is recognized as the best R&B Vocalist in Korea.  The concert he had last June in Osaka has been dubbed as very successful despite the limited number of guests that can be accomodated in the Matsushita Hall.  My Wheesung has been described as stylish and emotionally powerful Korean black dance music singer ~whew that was pretty long for a description.

Paran and Kim Bum Soo are the two other artists who will perform in the said event.  The event seems to be big that registration will be required to obtain a pass.   Mind you there will be pre -registration to for buying tickets (membership to the Japan-Korea Cultural Exchange Association allows one to buy ticket for 6,000 yen while non-members will be charged 8000 Yen.  I also got this info that his new album will be out by September.  Oh my, just when I thought it’s gonna be July….

Japan must be loving Wheesung that much, could this be the start of his rosy career in this country?

Wheesung’s Vocal Cord Operation

No wonder there has not been any news about Wheesung lately even if 다져도 촣아 (Dacho-do Chohwa) is still being promoted as follow through single to his hit 사랑은 맛있다 (Sarangeun Mashit-da) or Love is Delicious.  He has undergone a vocal cord operation last Feburay 26 in a hospital in Kangnam Seoul.

I have been searching for details regarding his military service entry and this operation for the longest time only to find this post from krnloop.wordpress.com last FEBRUARY 27.  Its like over a month now how did I ever miss this site. 

I have been reading comments all over the net saying his singing has deteriorated after his 3rd album (For the Moment) and I couldn’t believe it as I have not seen a consistent sign.  I have been watching his latest performances over youtube and he has been great in every performance specially at the height of performing Love is Delicious.  There is just one performance when he sang Savanah Woman and Love Is Delicious (I am not sure but I think its in the award when he had that issue on Ivy – as he looked at the ceiling in about 3 seconds while Ivy is rendering her thank you speech ) that I noticed he was having difficulties singing.  But there are more recent performances that he sang 다져도 촣아 with flying colors.  Mind you the song is ballad but it requires a lot of passion and voice power (reminds me of Andwenayo).

How is Wheesung now? According to krnloop, he is expected to rest for the next 2 months so until April 26?  He is also set to comeback on summer and I am going to Korea this April hmmm I wonder when is that Summer comeback…  I wish Wheesung is now fine and that his voice will be as good as it was before. Get well soon Wheesung-sshi.
